Telangana health team visits Chennai

Led by Telangana health minister, K. Lakshma Reddy, members discussed the state's public health system.

Chennai: Inspired by Tamil Nadu’s advanced health schemes, an 18-member team from Telangana’s health department visited the city on Friday.

Led by Telangana health minister, K. Lakshma Reddy, members discussed the state’s public health system at the government Omanthurar Multi Super Speciality Hospital.

“The state which has one of the advanced schemes, including Chief Minister’s comprehensive health insurance scheme and Amma baby kit scheme, has inspired us,” said Reddy.

“The historic Public Health Act implemented in Tamil Nadu is one of the most advanced in the country,” said principal secretary, health, Rajeshwar Tiwari. The team also visited Government Hospital at Tambaram and health centres at Medavakkam and New Perungalathur.
