Chennai: Will present my side at an appropriate time, says Ravikiran

His friends and disciples on FB have backed him to the hilt and say he doesn't deserve the slander aimed at him.

Chennai: Eminent musician and Sangita Kalanidhi Chitravina Ravikiran, who has been dropped from Music Academy's Margazhi season this year, says he would present his side at an appropriate time.

He says he had suspended his concerts 10 days ago after charges were levelled against him. Speaking to DC from the US, he says, “I suspended my concerts 10 days ago. I posted it on my FB page. I wanted things to get cleared.”

His friends and disciples on FB have backed him to the hilt and say he doesn't deserve the slander aimed at him. They also say that trial by social media cannot be accepted. While brushing aside the accusations against him, they say he has always been a role model, an inspiration, a mentor and a source of motivation. While lauding him for his discipline, professionalism and being a sensitive person to social causes, they hope that truth would prevail and he would come out unscathed.

When asked about Music Academy's decision, Ravikiran says, “Internal and external pressure must have driven Music Academy to take the decision. I fully understand that everybody has to do what they have to do.”

On #MeToo charges, he says, “I think every story has multiple sides depending on the people involved. And those on social media must desist from jumping to conclusions based on one narrative. I will present my side at an appropriate time.”
