Two deaths were reported under the jurisdiction of Osmania University police station.

Hyderabad: The impact of rains continued to be felt in Hyderabad even as low rainfall on Sunday — barring heavy rain reported by evening from IT corridor — provided relief overall.

Two deaths were reported under the jurisdiction of Osmania University police station. Mastan, 20, died while fishing at Moin Cheruvu while 40 year-old S. Mallaiah died when crossing a canal at Chintakunta in Dharur of Ranga Reddy district. His body was found near Chintakunta.

Bandari Layout, Nizampet, Kukatpally, Moosapet, Balanagar, Begumpet, Nacharam, Malkajgiri, Alwal, Kushaiguda and Old City still remained waterlogged.

The road at Nacharam, which connects Habsiguda and Mallapur, remained shut due to the overflowing nala. Allamthotabavi, Mayuri Marg and Brahmanwadi near Begumpet were waterlogged. People suffered due to sewerage water entering their houses. Houses at Alwal remained submerged.

4 columns of Army deployed at Begumpet, adjoining areas
The impact of rains continued to be felt in Hyderabad even as low rainfall on Sunday provided relief. Four columns of Army, which have been deployed at Begumpet, Nizampet, Hakimpet and Alwal, continued relief activities and supplied food packets. Officials used boats at Nizampet for relief activities. The Army is monitoring the situation round the clock. Army and IAF units have been kept on standby.

The road from Ramantha-pur to Uppal on Warangal Highway faced huge traffic jams due to the waterlogging at Doordarshan Kendra. Traffic police along with law and order personnel have filled up potholes in the city. NSS, NCC and students from a few colleges assisted them.

The IT sector recorded highest cumulative rainfall with 4 cm in Gachibowli and 3 cm in Madhapur. Machareddy in Nizamabad recorded 32.08 cm of rain followed by Kamareddy with 27.54 cm. Medchal recorded 13.04 cm.

The GHMC began an awareness programme at low-lying localities and started special drives to spread bleaching powder and spraying anti-larva liquids on stagnated water. Officials have set up 37 medical camps.
