TIRUCHY: As many as 28,375 aspirants appeared in the written test at 23 centres for the grade two constable recruitment, prison department and fire, and rescue services department in the central districts of Tiruchy, Karur, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Pudukkottai, Tiruvarur, and Nagapattinam districts on Sunday.
The number of applicants was 10,616 in nine centres in Tiruchy district, 3,436 in three centres in Karur district, 1,828 in two centres at Perambalur, 2,972 in three centres in Ariyalur District, 4,803 in two centres at Pudukkottai, 3,016 in three centres in Nagapattinam, and 2,404 in three centres in Tiruvarur district, police sources told DC.
Meanwhile, police took into the custody three persons including two brothers for alleged impersonation at a centre at Thathanur in Ariyalur district.
