Bengaluru: A female pregnant zebra which came to Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP) a couple of years ago died on Tuesday after it fell into a deep pit.
The Zebra was brought to BBP in November 2015 from a zoological park in Israel. According to BBP authorities, the incident took place on the midnight of July 24 when the zebra, Hemavathi, accidentally fell into a pit that was dug up to plant a sapling. Having landed on its back, the animal was not able to recover and died due to excruciating pain.
