Alappuzha and Palakkad top in paddy procurement followed by Thrissur and Kottayam.

Kochi: Supplyco has procured 4.76 lakh metric tonnes of paddy since October last year. The Corporation has distributed total of Rs.880.77 crore to farmers, said managing director Muhammad Hanish in a media release. During the corresponding period last year, the total paddy procurement was 4.52 lakh metric tonnes.
Alappuzha and Palakkad districts top in paddy procurement followed by Thrissur and Kottayam. Least quantity of paddy has been procured from Idukki with only 100 metric tonnes. The Corporation has been procuring paddy at the rate of Rs. 23.20 per kilogram.
