Hyderabad Metro Rail: Skywalk in the offing

Is set to link Secunderabad East Metro Station and Secunderabad Railway station.

Hyderabad: A skywalk for the easy movement of passengers from Secunderabad East Metro Station to the end of the Secunderabad Railway station has been finalised by the Hyderabad Metro Rail on Monday.

Managing director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Mr N.V.S. Reddy, along with engineers of L&T Metro Rail and South Central Railway officers discussed modalities of intermodal connectivity between the railways and also TSRTC.

The landing points of the Secunderabad Metro Station, Secunderabad Railway Reservation complex and Rathifile bus depot are going to be connected so that it becomes easy for passengers to access the mode of transport they opt for. The corridor no. 3 from Nagole to Raidurg was inspected and at Chilkalguda, HMR has asked for an acre of vacant railway land so that steel bridge components can be brought from the factory in Noida and stored there.

The steel bridge staging works have already started at Oliphanta Metro Rail and in order to complete the works quickly these arrangements of open land are required. The work at the rail over-bridge at Begumpet is also going on in full swing but open space at Begumpet post office too is required to accommodate construction material. Inspections were also carried out at Paradise, Rasoolpura and Prakash Nagar Metro stations.
