Miscreants set fire to drain pipe at Hosahalli metro station

The pillar had a PVC drain pipe that comes down all the way from the tracks and it had caught fire.

Bengaluru: Miscreants set fire to a drain pipe at the Hosahalli metro station causing panic among metro users and officials on Monday afternoon. The security guards at the metro station alerted the Fire and Emergency Services who rushed to the spot and doused the fire immediately. Metro officials have lodged a police complaint in this regard at the Vijaynagar police station. Fire officials said that miscreants from nearby areas might have set fire to a cloth and placed it next to one of the metro bridge pillars near the metro station. The pillar had a PVC drain pipe that comes down all the way from the tracks and it had caught fire. Metro officials later inspected the spot and lodged a formal complaint with the Vijaynagar police in the evening.
