Sale of banned drugs: Gym instructor held

Bengaluru: A 29-year-old gym instructor in Chamrajpet was arrested for selling allegedly banned steroids to his customers by luring them with quick results.

Police raided Ultimate Fitness Gym, owned by Shashikumar, in Chamarajpet 4th Main, based on a tip off.

They recovered huge amount of syringes containing banned steriods, bottles and used tablets strips from the gym.

According to police, Shashikumar was administrating the drugs to his customers who wanted quick results to tone their bodies. He lured many people aspiring to participate in body building competitions to consume muscle building powder and get steroids injections for effective results.

Shashikumar told the police that he was sourcing the drugs online and in order to conceal the details, he stored them differently. He was selling drugs at exorbitant rates.

He was offering medicines to reduce and gain weight, the police said. The police got a tip off after some gullible customers developed health complications after consuming those drugs.

The police have also written to the Drug Control Department to examine the contents of the drugs and provide a report for the further course of action.

The police have taken Shashikumar into custody for further investigations.
