Nizamabad: A new sewage treatment plant was inaugurated in Nizamabad on Wednesday. The UGD works was taken up at a cost of Rs 6 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, minister for roads, buildings, transport and legislative affairs Vemula Prashanth Reddy said, “Developmental works to the tune of Rs 300 crore have been taken up in the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation limits. After 40 years, Nizamabad city has received sufficient funds to carry out development works.”
The minister appreciated the collective efforts of Nizamabad urban MLA Bigala Ganesh Gupta, engineers and contractors for completing the work at the earliest. Instead of 88 acres, STP works were completed with open aeration system in 18 acres only, he said. The remaining land is being used for 2BHK houses, IT Hub, new collectorate building and gardens, the minister said.
Mr Prashanth Reddy said, “Road works at a cost of Rs 125 crore were taken up in Nizamabad out which about Rs 50 crore has already been spent.”
