Bengaluru: Metro line to KIA Project report by next month

The chief minister instructed the officials to finish off all ongoing infrastructure projects on time.

Bengaluru: The BMRCL will prepare a project report for the Metro line to the Kempegowda International Airport by next month, Namma Metro officials told Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, during a review meeting of infrastructure projects on Monday.

Officials briefed him about the progress of works, including Namma Metro, flyovers, underpasses, Tender Sure roads, signal-free corridors and drainage works. All the stakeholders, BBMP, BWSSB, BESCOM and BMRCL, attended the meeting.

The chief minister instructed the officials to finish off all ongoing infrastructure projects on time. He ordered the BWSSB and BESCOM to coordinate with BBMP and BMRCL to speed up the projects.

The meeting also discussed about a new Metro line from K.R.Puram to Hebbal. The CM asked the officials to prepare the project and feasibility reports.

BWSSB officials briefed the chief minister about disposal of solid waste and collection of waste from the households, while BDA officials discussed about rejuvenation of lakes.

Biocon CMD Kiran Muzumdar Shaw lauded the chief minister for holding the review meeting and said that because of the proactive state government, projects have speeded up in the city.

Bengaluru Development minister K.J. George, Chief Secretary Subhash Chandra Khuntia, chief minister’s Principal Secretary L.K. Ahik, Parliamentary Secretary K. Govindaraju, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Praveen Sood, BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad, retied IAS officers B.S.Patil, Siddaiah and Swathi Ramanathan from Janagraha were present.
