KCR forgot vow to return waqf land, says Ali

The leaders protested against the encroachment of waqf property attached to the Toli Masjid in Karwan.

Hyderabad: Former minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Monday alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekar Rao had promised to release all Waqf Properties which were under government occupation within 100 days if he was voted to rule the state. But 1,849 days have passed but not a single inch of the land was returned to the Waqf Board, he said.

Mr Shabbir, former MPs Aziz Pasha and Osman bin Mohammed Alhajiri along with party workers called on Waqf Board chairman Mohammed Saleem on Monday and submitted a memorandum on protection of waqf properties.

The leaders protested against the encroachment of waqf property attached to the Toli Masjid in Karwan. During the meeting, there was a heated exchange of words between Mr Shabbir and Mr Saleem.

Speaking to the media later, Mr Shabbir said that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had claimed to protect waqf properties, but the fact was that the instances of grabbing waqf properties had increased in the TRS regime.
