Congress for probe into Palamuru lift irrigation project

Hyderabad: Congress Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has written to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for a judicial inquiry into the explosion at the Palamuru lift irrigation project which claimed the lives of two persons. Mr Sudhakar Reddy, deputy leader of the Congress Legislature Party, also asked for a thorough inquiry into other incidents and stringent action on the contractors who were held responsible.

He asked Mr Rao to direct the officers concerned to provide ex-gratia to the family members of the victims. Mr Sudhakar Reddy said Jayant and Pulchand were killed and 15 injured in a blast occurred hat occurred in an under-construction tunnel that was part of the Palamuru lift irrigation project at Yellure village of Nagarkurnool district.
