Visakhapatnam: Feasibility study okays Hyperloop transportation

Andhra Pradesh seems to be the first state in the country to experience Hyperloop transpiration facility.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra Pradesh seems to be the first state in the country to experience Hyperloop transpiration facility as the feasibility study for the 40-km route connecting Amaravati and Vijayawada is feasible and profitable as well. There is also a plan to go for 500 km route project in Andhra Pradesh by the same private company.

This is the outcome of the feasibility study taken up by the Hyperloop Transportation Techno-logies (HTT) after signing a MoU with the AP Economic Development Board (AP- EDB) from October last year. The company will submit the feasibility study to the government in two weeks. The speed of the Hyperloop capsule which carries the passengers can move up to 1,200 km-speed. However, the technology used in the project and structure of the route decides the speed.

While the feasibility study report prepared by HTT is to be submitted within two weeks, Mr Bibop Gresta, chairman and co-founder of Hyperloop Transporta-tion Technologies (HTT) indicated that the project is not only feasible but profitable too if the plans envisaged in the study are rightly executed. Hyperloop is cheaper than half of the metro projects Mr Gresta said with right people density, talented workforce, lack of infrastructure and hence a scope to build. Moreover the political will of the AP government with its visionary Chief Minister of the state are the driving factors for us. “We are not optimistic but realistic about the project. The project may break even and make a profit from the four to five years. The ticket fare would also be affordable for all,” said HTT chairman.
