TIRUPATI: All roads lead to pilgrim centre of Tiruchanoor on Thursday, to take part in the auspicious Panchami Theertham, with which the Navahnika Karthika Brahmotsavams of Goddess Padmavathi Devi concluded on a grand religious note. Earlier during the day, before the Goddess was given the celestial head bath, Abhyangana Snanam, Choornabhishekam was performed. The processional deity was seated in the Dhwaja Mandapam inside Tiruchanoor temple while the Archakas performed this ritual chanting Sri Mantram and Sri Suktam. Later the Goddess was taken to Padma Sarovaram and seated on the special platform in Panchami Theertha Mandapam.
Along with the Goddess, Sri Sudarshana Chakrattalwar, the anthropomorphic form of Lord, was also seated and Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed. Initially, Kankanabhattar Sri Archakam Vakulabharanam Srinivasa Manikantha Bhattar commenced the fete by invoking all deities in nine Kalasas. Later the celestial ceremony started with Viswaksena Aradhana, followed by Punyahavachanam and other rituals.
Meanwhile, the Srivari Padi Sare from Tirumala reached Panchamitheertha Mandapam on Thursday. The celestial gifts comprising silk vastrams, vermilion, turmeric, sandal, garlands, jewels, laddu, vada, appam etc. were offered to Goddess Padmavathi Devi as a token of love from Lord Venkateswara on her birthday. Tirumala JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju handed over the sare to his Tirupati counterpart P. Bhaskar at Pasupu Mandapam. From there he carried the sare to the temple which was received by TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal
During the Sanapana Tirumanjanam, the Goddess is adorned with jewels brought from Tirumala consisting Tulasi Patra haram weighing about 2.178kilos and coral kasula mala weighing around 118 grams. Every year Lord presents precious jewels as his lady love's birthday gift. Kankana Bhattar Archakam Vakulabharanam Srinivasa Manikantha Bhattar performed the rituals as per the tenets of Pacharatra Agama. The chakrasnanam was performed to Sudarshana Chakrattalwar in the prescribed Makaralagnam. Tens of thousands of devotees took the holy dip as soon as the holy disc was given a sacred dip in Padma Pushkarini.
