Start-ups to pitch live at summit

About eighty start-ups, three of which are from Hyderabad, are participating in the contest.

HYDERABAD: Start-ups from India, the USA, and other parts of the world will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas and attract potential partners at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES). The Global Innovation through Science and Technology Initiative (GIST) of the Government of USA, will conduct a live pitch competition at the Summit on November 29 and 30.

About eighty start-ups, three of which are from Hyderabad, are participating in the contest whose outcome will be decided through public voting. About 12,000 votes have been polled so far. Four winners, one from each of the following sectors – Energy and Infrastructure, Health and Life Sciences, Financial Tech and the Digital Economy, and Media and Entertainment, will be chosen on the basis of preliminary voting, the deadline for which is November 24.

These four companies will then compete against each at the GES to be declared the winner of the GIST Catalyst Pitch Competition. The winning team will have the opportunity to be interviewed by Inc. Magazine.
