Chennai: The Madras high court quashed an order of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly secretary, repatriating M.Athiseshan, who has been appointed as a special personal assistant to DMK Treasurer and leader of opposition M.K. Stalin, back to the secretariat service and downgrading the upgraded post of special personal assistant to the post of personal assistant in the earlier pay scale.
Allowing the petition filed by Stalin, Justice R.Subbiah quashed the order dated August 22 and directed the Assembly secretary to reinstate Athiseshan in the same post. Acceding to the request of senior counsel P.Wilson, appearing for Stalin, to fix a time frame to implement this order, the judge directed the Assembly secretary to place Athiseshan in terms of the original order dated June 8, posting him as Special PA, at the earliest.
