Hyderabad: Congress Legislative Council member Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy will submit his reply to the Disciplinary Action Committee of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Monday in response to the showcause notice issued for his comments against the party leadership.
Mr Rajagopal Reddy had criticised the party leadership after the All India Congress Committee (AICC) named several election committees for the Telangana assembly elections, which led to much discussion among party leaders and workers.
When the notice was issued a couple of days ago, he responded verbally by taking on some leaders. However, committee is waiting for a written response from Mr Rajagopal Reddy. Speaking to this newspaper, DAC chairman M. Kodanda Reddy said, “We cannot talk about further action or the next step unless we receive a response from him. The comments at a press conference will not be considered as a reply.”
Mr Rajagopal Reddy told this newspaper, “I have expressed the feelings of party workers openly. I’m not bothered about giving a reply to the disciplinary action committee, as today is a Sunday. I will give them the reply on Monday, I’m not ready to reveal what I will say. After submitting the copy to the committee, I will inform everyone. All my comments are meant to save the party.”
