Parents, students protest against fee hike in CBIT

The students are against the management for releasing a circular regarding the fee hike.

Hyderabad: Parents and students protested in large numbers at the Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) college premises at Gandipet on Thursday regarding the fee hike of Rs 86,500 that it imposed even after the court order recently.

Students have even boycotted their internal mid-exams and participated in the protest.

Due to a large number of students gathering at the campus, it turned violent and police forces had to be deployed to control the crowd.

There was also a fight at the campus between the students and the college authorities. The cops intervened and controlled the students.

The students are against the management for releasing a recent circular regarding the fee hike.

A student, Ms Sai Krishna, at the protest stated that, “We demand the management to cancel the fee hike and we are not ready to pay the hiked fee.”
