Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorology Department warned on Sunday that heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated places in the districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Warangal and Khammam in Telangana.
On Monday temperatures stayed 24ºC above normal and ranged between 42-45ºC across the state. The maximum temperature of 46ºC degree Celsius recorded at Ramagundam in Karimnagar. In Hyderabad the mercury touched 40.5ºC. The weather website accuweather.com reported the maximum at 37.7ºC.
There is no heat wave alert for AP. Temperatures across the state are on a rise and at most of the places it was recorded between 40-43 degree Celsius.
Rajahmundry recorded the highest day temperature this summer at 46.5ºC. The temperature was recorded at an ITC station.
While the IMD reported with The second hottest place in AP was Jaganmaheswarapuram in Guntur at 45ºC degrees Celsius on Monday.
It received 45.5 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Though the cyclonic storm
Roanu had given temporary reprieve as day temperature dipped due to
the rainfall for three days, the day temperature is rising again.
Similar is the situation in several parts in both the districts. From the early hours of the day, people are experiencing heat wave until late in the evening forcing them to remain indoors while some of them are deferring work to avoid exposure to the hot sun.
Frequent interruption in power supply in the name of load shedding and
for regular maintenance works is also causing trouble to the people. Poultry industry is also facing the wrath of heat wave as the birds kept in sheds started perishing unable to bear the severe heat and reports are coming in from several parts where fish in the fish tanks are also getting affected as the temperature in the water is rising.
