Land allotments to IT firms is transparent: Nara Lokesh

He said that the land allotments to IT companies are being done in a systematic and transparent manner.

VIJAYAWADA: IT minister Nara Lokesh said that the land allotments to IT companies are being done in a systematic and transparent manner. Lokesh in the Assembly on Friday lambasted the Opposition leaders for spreading lies on land allotment to Franklin & Templeton company in Vizag. He also challenged the Opposition parties to convince and get at least one IT company to the state and the state government will bear the travel and boarding expenses.

“Globally, the IT industry is in a slump and the companies have stopped hiring. Despite such adverse conditions, I was able to bring many IT companies to Andhra Pradesh as I promised to provide at least one lakh jobs in the IT sector and two lakh jobs in the electronics manufacturing sector in the next two years when take over as IT minister. I am going in the right direction. Land to Franklin& Templeton has been allotted in the most transparent manner with several procedures after it passed through various levels in the government. For us it is a mega investment since they have come forward to invest Rs 455 crore and promised 2,500 high-end jobs in the blockchain, big data analytics etc,” said Mr Lokesh during the call attention motion.

He said that until now 16,583 jobs have been provided in IT sector in the state and 27,500 jobs have been cleared and 40,000 jobs are in the pipeline. Mr Lokesh also said that around 15,000 jobs have been created in the electronic manufacturing sector with maximum share in Foxconn in Chittoor district. Reliance Group had also assured investment in the electronic manufacturing sector with which more jobs will be provided in the sector. Mr Lokesh further said that he has been working in the direction of the mandate given by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, to create four Cyberabads in the state at Vizag, Amaravati, Tirupati and Anantapur.
