Hyderabad: Police inspector booked for bigamy

Hyderabad: A police inspector in the state has been booked on charges of domestic violence and bigamy at Saroornagar women police station on Monday.

The victim, K. Renuka of LB Nagar lodged a complaint at the women police station alleging that her husband inspector Rajaiah who earlier worked at Asif Nagar police station in the city, has cheated her, and subjected her to domestic violence.

In her complaint, she stated that Rajaiah married her in 2009, telling that his first and second wife had died. The couple had three children. Rajaiah then entered into a relationship with another woman and harassed her.

Saroornagar women police station inspector B. Vittal Reddy said “The woman has mentioned that her husband Rajaiah worked as an inspector in Asif Nagar and as she is not in touch with him for over a month. She added that she did not know where he is currently posted. A case has been registered against Rajaiah under Sections 498A, 494, 420 and 506 of IPC.”
