Survey: NRIs like to return home

According to a survey by Indeed, nearly 44 per cent of Indians in the US wish to come back.

Hyderabad: Two global surveys on NRIs revealed that majority of them pamper the idea of turning their steps back to their motherland.

According to a survey by Indeed, nearly 44 per cent of Indians in the US wish to come back.

Another recent study by Harvard Law School said 50 per cent of NRIs returnees are doing so for entrepreneurship and to set up start ups in India.

The ‘Indeed’ survey said that the percentage of job aspirants to the Gulf countries from India was down by 20 per cent last year but it increased by 20 per cent and 10 per cent for Ireland and Germany, respectively.

Ms Gowri Dani, a techie from Philips in America, said, “We are staying at Boston. I along with my husband want to go back to India. It is not a decision related to fear from President Donald Trump or racism.”

M. Madhava Kumar, a techie from Hyderabad who is settled in the US, said that those who reached to higher positions in the IT sector desire to go back to India. “After getting good salaries and savings, they want to establish companies or start ups in India,” he said.
