Will you be our Brahma or Yama? Mandya farmer asks H.D. Kumaraswamy

Failing to repay the loan, the bank filed a case in court and asked him to appear in person on June 25.

Mandya: “Will you come as 'Brahma' (creator) or Yama (Lord of death). The choice is yours. But please take decision at the earliest..." This is the content of a letter written by Mandya farmer to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, following a notice served on him by the court for non-payment of an agricultural loan tha he had borrowed.

The aggrieved farmer, Moodegowda of Upparakanahalli village of Mandya district, threatened to take his own life if the government or the CM stepped in and helped him. Mr Basave Gowda, father of Moodegowda had borrowed Rs 1.75 lakh as crop loan from State Bank of India, Mandya branch in 2011. Failing to repay the loan, the bank filed a case in court and asked him to appear in person on June 25.
