Hyderabad: Engineering aspirants on Sunday found Paper-2 tougher than Paper-1 during the JEE Advanced exam held in the city. Physics to a large extent, and some Maths questions, took a lot of time to finish, many of the test takers said.
R. Gayatri, who got 330 marks in the JEE Main, said that Physics questions on Paper-2 were extremely long. “Paper-1 went off easily with questions in the subjects of Maths, Physics and Chemistry turning out to be simple. But Paper-2 was the real test of our skills,” she said.
Meanwhile, Dr P. Ananda Raman from the FIIT JEE, at Hyderabad, said that this years’ Advanced exam was a shade tougher than last year's examination. He also lauded the team that had prepared the papers. “The real talent and skill to solve problems of the student was put to the test this time. So only the best of the lot will come out with flying colours and get admissions into the IITs,” he said.
In terms of turnout, close to 10,000 candidates appeared for the exam across the three centres of Hyderabad, Warangal and Mahabubnagar in Telangana.
Nearly 1.56 lakh candidates registered for the national level entrance exam out of a total of around 1.98 lakh qualified students.
JEE Advanced 2016 comprises of two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2, and candidates have to appear in both the papers to be eligible to be listed in the rank list.
