PM Modi confirms Metro launch, SPG does a recce of Miyapur station

A senior government official said the tentative schedule is that the PM will first inaugurate the Metro Rail at Miyapur at 3 pm.

Hyderabad: The Metro Rail will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Miyapur on November 28, according to a communication received by the Telangana police. The exact time and other details have yet to be worked out. This puts an end to days of nervous speculation about whether or not the line would be ready in time for the Prime Minister to flag it off.

The Special Protection Group, which is in charge of the Prime Minister’s security, inspected the Miyapur Metro Rail station on Tuesday afternoon to evaluate the situation and note the time it will take to travel on the Metro Rail from Miypaur to SR Nagar, as Mr Modi is expected to do, and also the time it will take to travel to the venue of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 which the Prime Minister will also inaugurate.

A senior government official said the tentative schedule is that the Prime Minister will first inaugurate the Metro Rail at Miyapur at 3 pm. “He is expected to fly from Begumpet to Miyapur. The train ride will be from Miyapur to S R Nagar and back. The time period is being set to understand the time the ride will take.” There are 10 stations and the route is 12 km long.
