Hyderabad High Court judge moves to help out on Ramappa temple

The judge informed the Chief Justice of the importance of the temple, located in Palampet of the erstwhile Warangal district.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court has taken up the issue of dereliction in the maintenance of the Ramappa temple in Jayashankar Bhupalapalli district as a public interest litigation.

Justice P. Naveen Rao responding to reports with regard to a threat to the existence of the temple in view of improper maintenance had written the Chief Justice requesting that the matter be taken up suo motu, and issuing appropriate orders for protecting the monument.

The judge informed the Chief Justice of the importance of the temple, located in Palampet of the erstwhile Warangal district, and mentioned news reports indicated poor maintenance by the Archaeological Society of India.

The Chief Justice referred the letter of the judge to the PIL committee which decided to take up the case and asked the High Court registry to list it for hearing.
