Delay in B Tech results puts students' future in jeopardy

One of the students the who was admitted to BITS, Pilani was asked to submit the final mark list before October 1.

Thiruvananthapuram: The delay in publishing results of B Tech supplementary exams by the Kerala University, is causing troubles to students who have completed the course and got admissions outside the state. Many who have been admitted provisionally have been asked to produce their certificates within a time-frame.

Take, for example, the case of the last batch of the 2008 scheme students. The results of the semester eight of 2008 scheme supplementary examinations held in the previous year is yet to be announced, sources said.

One of the students the who was admitted to BITS, Pilani was asked to submit the final mark list before October 1. As the student could not submit it on time, the admission was withheld, sources said.

The same was the case with some students who were admitted to foreign universities for M Tech courses. These students were also given only provisional admissions.

In case of the 2013 admissions, the results of the supplementary examinations held in September 2016 were published only last week.

This was when the admission to M Tech courses in the state was being held in July and August. The students of this batch who were given only provisional admissions for M Tech were regularised only after the results were published.

As a result, many students of 2013 scheme 2014 admission students are anxious whether the results of their supplementary examination results would be published before their course is over. Incidentally, the results of the semester three and semester five supplementary exams held in September 2016 and semester six held in January of these students are yet to be announced, sources said.
