Siddaramaiah honours Vidushi Rajamma with Asthan Vidwan award

Mr Siddaramaiah inaugurated Chamundi view point with two fixed binoculars which enable a panoramic view of Mysuru.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah presented Asthan Vidwan State Award to Vidushi Rajamma Keshavmurthy and inaugurated the eight day Dasara cultural programmes in front of the illuminated Mysuru Palace on Thursday evening. He said, “A cultural policy has been formed as per which the Sangeetha Vidwan award amount has been increased from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. Except for the folk songs I learnt at Veeramakkala Kunitha which my father made me join, I have not learnt any music. But I am a music connoisseur.”

Kids from the government deaf and dumb and blind school had the privilege of having a delicious spread of holige, chithranna and other items along with Minister U.T. Khader who inaugurated the ten day Dasara food festival at the ground adjacent to Lalitha Mahal road.

At Chamundi Hills, Mr Siddaramaiah handed over Dasara kreeda jyothi to India’s chess grandmaster, M.S. Tejkumar. International women cricketers, Veda Krishnamrthy and Rajeshwari Gaikwad participated in the inaugural event of the seven day Dasara sports meet along with Minister Pramod Madhwaraj who inaugurated the Dasara aqua sports at Varuna lake.

Mr Siddaramaiah inaugurated Chamundi view point with two fixed binoculars which enable a panoramic view of Mysuru. He kickstarted the Dasara film festival to be held on the lines of the International film festival this year.
