People searching for their relatives can put details down and those who have found someone can also feed in the details.

Bengaluru: Looking to find a relative missing in the Kodagu floods? Or announce that you've tracked down someone? Go to the new comprehensive webpage for Kodagu Rescue Operations. The page http://www.parihara.karnataka.gov.in/Pariharahome/ can be accessed through your mobile to reach the rescue teams and if net connectivity is not available in Kodagu, victims can reach out to nadakacheris or the web portal in Grama Panchayats where this facility is available. Free. Developed by the Survey department of the state government, it will help Kodagu in its time of need, said Commissioner, Survey and Settlements, Munish Moudgil.

"In fact, chief secretary, T.M. Vijaya Bhaskar brought our attention to the Google’s facility introduced for Kerala flood relief work and asked us whether we can do a similar facility for Kodagu people. We took a day’s time and developed this. Taking the concept forward, we made it more comprehensive," he said. The page has three sub sections. In addition to information about relief centres, it lists the names of officers who are in-charge of these centres and the total number of people in the relief Scentres.

The three windows include: Request for Help, Registered Help Requests and the one on follow up action. "People searching for their relatives can put details down and those who have found someone can also feed in the details. This will help the authorities to rescue them and give them the help they require," he said.
