Telangana: Collection of Income Tax high this year

I-Tdepartment was expecting Rs 47,000 crore collections from both states.

Hyderabad: Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax department for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Sates Shyam Prasad Choudhury on Friday said the department was expecting Rs 47,000 crore collections from both states of which share of Telangana would be Rs 40,000 crore and the remaining from Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking at a press conference organised in connection with the celebrations of Income Tax Day on July 24, Mr Choudhury said that the tax department had managed to collect Rs 39,865 crore last year. “The two states are having 25 lakh assessees.”
