Supreme Court agrees on early hearing of Ram temple case

Swamy informed the court that the main appeals against the Allahabad High Court order are pending for the last seven years.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to list for early hearing a batch of appeals relating to Ayodhya Ram temple title suit, in which the Allahabad High Court had divided the share of land as 2/3rd for Hindus and 1/3rd for Muslims.

A Bench of Chief Justice J.S. Khehar and Justice D.Y. Chandra-chud told Subramanian Swamy that the matter will be listed for hearing when the BJP leader pleaded for urgent listing of the appeals and his intervention petition which has been tagged with the appeals.

In March, the CJI had offered to mediate between the parties to resolve the dispute, but when he came to know that Dr Swamy is not a party to the main appeals, the CJI dropped that offer.
