Jurala irrigation project close to full level

While the inflow was 19,000 cusecs, the outflow was 2,600 cusecs.

Hyderabad: The Jurala irrigation project in Mahbubnagar district is all set to attain full level by Friday due to substantial inflows from the Narayanpur dam in Karnataka for the past three days.

The water level touched 8.473 tmc at 6 pm on Thursday against the gross storage capacity of 9.657 tmc. Against the full reservoir level of 318.516 m, the water stood at 317.930 m. While the inflow was 19,000 cusecs, the outflow was 2,600 cusecs.

Irrigation official Sridhar Deshpande said since there was receding flood now, there were few chances of water being released to Srisailam just yet. The water will be released to Srisailam only in case heavy inflows continue from Karnataka.

Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar have to wait for few more days. Nagarjuna Sagar receives water only if Srisailam gates are opened.
