Opposition offers help to fight Nipah virus

Chennithala conveyed his anguish with Nipah death toll rising to 10 by Monday afternoon.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala has conveyed his concerns on Nipah virus deaths to health minister K. K. Shylaja. He also offered the help of the Opposition to the health minister to bring the virus under control. Chennithala spoke to Shylaja who is in Kozhikode to take stock of the situation due to Nipah deaths in Kozhikode and Malappuram. He offered all help to the efforts made by the LDF Government in containing the virus from spreading further. Chennithala conveyed his anguish with Nipah death toll rising to 10 by Monday afternoon.

"I have requested before the health minister to take urgent and immediate steps in controlling the Nipah virus. Adequate medicines and health workers should be brought in. Awareness should be brought in on Nipah virus in the affected areas", said Chennithala. He also demanded that cleaning efforts should be taken across the State.
