Palair Assembly bypoll over, KCR reshuffles bureaucrats

Simultaneous orders were issued transferring D.S. Lokesh Kumar, who was heading the Metro Water Board as the Khammam district collector.

Hyderabad: Minutes after polling for the Palair Assembly bypoll ended, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao transferred Khammam collector M. Dana Kishore and posted him as the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board MD.

Simultaneous orders were issued transferring D.S. Lokesh Kumar, who was heading the Metro Water Board as the Khammam district collector. Last month, following a complaint from the Telangana Congress leaders to the Chief Election Commissioner, the EC had transferred the Khammam collector and the SP.

The same day, the TS government switched the posts of both Mr Kumar and Mr Kishore. Recently, the CM had said that the Congress leaders had ‘unnecessarily’ complained to the EC without knowing taking into account Mr Kishore’s integrity and honesty, traits that were acknowledged by the EC itself during the 2014 general elections.

Meanwhile, the TS government affected a few transfers of senior IPS officials.
Y. Nagi Reddy, additional commissioner, Special Branch Hyderabad, was transferred and posted as IGP, North Zone, vice Naveen Chand, who was directed to report to the office of the DGP till further posting.

B. Malla Reddy, deputy IGP, Warangal Range was promoted to the rank of IG and posted as TS Police Housing Corporation MD. T. Prabhakar Rao, joint commissioner of police, CCS, Hyderabad was transferred and posted as deputy IGP, Warangal Range.
