N Chandrababu Naidu fears Centre may impose Prez rule

The same meeting with more energy will be held in Amaravati soon. All 22 party leaders will come to Amaravati as well, the CM said.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said that the BJP led Centre has been threatening to impose President’s rule in Andhra Pradesh. Interacting with party men at a teleconference here on Monday, Mr Naidu found fault with the Union ministers visiting Andhra Pradesh every week. He asked what good the Centre had done for the Union ministers to visit the state?

He said that the compromise between YSRC and TRS should be taken into public vigorously. Mr Naidu said that KCR was the second person to sign on the Raja of Corruption book and has been now praising former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy in Telangana Assembly.

Mr Naidu said that it was under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, TRS chief KCR and YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy joined hands.

“It’s just a week the meeting between KTR and Jagan happened and Jagan immediately wrote a letter to KCR. Yesterday, in Telangana Assembly, KCR praised YSR. TRS and YSRC joined hands under Modi’s direction. YSRC and TRS are entering into a conspiracy to bring in conflicts among Backward Classes and have been trying to separate them from TD,” Mr Naidu said and asked the party cadre to be alert to face the conspiracy of the three parties.

BCs must unite to fight against these conspiracies, Mr Naidu has voiced. He said that a historic assembly took place in Kolkata Brigade grounds. “More than 10 lakh people participated in the meeting. The United India meeting at Kolkata has given an assurance to the people of India. The end of the tyrannical rule has begun,” Mr Naidu said.

The same meeting with more energy will be held in Amaravati soon. All 22 party leaders will come to Amaravati as well,” the CM said.

“The country's decline can be seen under Modi’s leadership. Development has a bad face, welfare of the poor has been in coma. He has become a negative leader in public opinion. The BJP has done nothing specially for AP, even less funds were allotted for AP than in BJP-ruled states. For development of roads, we got seven times lesser than Uttar Pradesh and four times lesser than Maharashtra. Only Rs 5,399 crore was provided for development of roads in AP. Weekly, a Central minister is coming to state. What you have done for the state and coming to showcase? No one here is afraid of BJP leaders threatening of imposing Presidential rule,” Mr Naidu said.

Later, at a party coordination committee meeting, Mr Naidu said that the welfare schemes for the poor in Andhra Pradesh are the best in the country, with no other state able to match it.

Addressing the Telugu Desam Party’s coordination meeting here on Monday, he said that despite the Centre not helping the State, development was taken up by the State on its own. Women’s groups would be given another Rs 10,000 shortly, he announced.

“I have written a letter to Gadkari today on Polavaram. They have to release pending funds to Polavaram. We have requested them to approve DPR-2. They said they would clear it in a month but have failed to keep their word,” he revealed.

Mr Naidu also stated that KCR made such a fuss as though he toured the entire country. “Though 22 parties attended the rally in Kolkata, KCR did not show up and was enacting a drama,” he said.

The TD national president also said that KTR and Jagan unfolded a new drama. “They cannot hide the facts. If the paper on YSRC clock is removed, you can see the picture of TRS,” he commented.

Mr Naidu opined that YSRC was playing “diversion-politics” and was trying to take the attention of the people away from the hike in pension to Rs 2,000. The complaint of Sharmila, the meeting with KTR etc. were all part of this diversion politics, he observed.

“In the name of Rayalaseema Declar-ation, the BJP tried to provoke us. They launched a false campaign that we did not give UCs. They lathicharged members of Special Status Samiti in Delhi and the YSRC leaders did not even bother to condemn it. The Kolkata rally reflected the feelings of the people in the country. It showed that people are severely opposing the BJP and there is all-round resentment towards Modi rule,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that the Modi Government had put India in debts which had increased by over 50 per cent. Modi should take the credit for increasing the debts from Rs 49 lakh crore to Rs 82 lakh crore, he said.

Even when 10 per cent reservations were given to EBC, there was no response from the public, he noted.

Mr Naidu observed that the people in the state are highly satisfied over the increase in pension to Rs 2,000 per month. Satisfaction levels among the people have now increased. by 4.66 per cent — from 66.52 per cent to 71.18 per cent. He said that the tax exemption to autorickshaws and tractors have drawn all-round appreciation and auto drivers and tractor owners are happy. Women were happy that they got another Rs 10,000 under “Pasupu-Kumkuma”.

“If you do well, I will be appreciated as leader. Even if one of you does not do well, it will earn me a bad name. All of you should work hard, giving no scope for errors. Put in coordinated efforts. We have to work with an aim of winning elections,” he stated.

The TD national president said that the AP Assembly session would begin on January 30 where they will say what they have done during the past four-and-a-half years. “We will take the future development plans to the people,” he stated.
