Ministers' silence pains N Chandrababu Naidu

The Chief Minister also reminded that none of the Ministers have been reacting on issues until the Telugu Desam office asks them to do so.

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu flayed ministers for not tacking controversial issues and reacting on time.

Addressing the coordination committee meeting on Saturday, Mr Naidu cited a miscommunication that spread the word that he would approach the Supreme Court for implementing the Reorganisation Act.

Because of the ministers’ silence for some time, the misconception that the Chief Minister had an intention to approach the Supreme Court against the Centre on commitments made at the time of bifurcation lingered on for some time.

After some time, the issue assumed the form of a dispute in which Mr Naidu had to respond on the topic and explain that it was not his intention and that he was misinterpreted.

The Chief Minister also reminded that none of the Ministers have been reacting on issues until the Telugu Desam office asks them to do so. The Chief Minister has made all this clear and warned there would be gradings issued on performances even based on such issues.

The Chief Minister said that the ministers have failed to react even at times when the government is being blamed for something or was facing a tough situation.

In Polavaram, the ministers failed to adequately reacting on questions and criticism like time needed for capital city construction and other government policies.

The Chief Minister said the ministers should react on issues, and no one will guide them because people have placed their confidence in them.

Reacting to this, a senior minister said, “We did not have clarity on the Chief Minister’s comments on approaching the Supreme Court and so couldn’t respond on it.”
