Rahul Gandhi did not focus on local issues: Leaders

The people present at the meeting were carefully listening to Mr Gandhi when he took the name of Kumaram Bheem and his contributions to the country.

Adilabad: Congress party leaders are happy with the success of the first election meeting in Bhainsa on Saturday.

The party leaders were satisfied with the responses they received from the people when they attacked the TRS and care taker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

The people present at the meeting were carefully listening to Mr Gandhi when he took the name of Kumaram Bheem and his contributions to the country. However, Mr Gandhi soon switched to speaking about national politics.

One of the people at the meeting said, “We wanted Mr Gandhi to touch on the issues that affect our state rather than national issues such as the Rafale scam”. If Mr Gandhi wants to address national issues he should do so at national level meeting or hold press conferences. While addressing rallies for state elections he should focus and localise his speeches, he added.

Another leader said that there was a good response from the people to the meeting, but Congress leader did not rise up to the expectations as far as his speech was concerned.
