Bajireddy assumes charge as TSRTC chairman

Bajireddy thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for reposing faith in him

HYDERABAD: TRS Nizamabad Rural MLA Bajireddy Govardhan on Monday assumed charge as chairman of TS Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) at Bus Bhavan.

Ministers K.T. Rama Rao, Puvvada Ajay, V. Prashanth Reddy, MLC K. Kavitha and TSRTC managing director V.C. Sajjanar were present on the occasion.

Bajireddy thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for reposing faith in him. He said that he would go all-out to restore the corporation’s past glory and make it a profitable entity.

"The spiralling diesel prices and Covid have caused huge losses to TSRTC, which lost Rs 2,500 crore revenue to Covid. From what was a daily earning of Rs 13 crore is now down to Rs 10 crore while our expenditure is Rs 18 crore per day. We are exploring alternative revenue options to tide over these losses," he said.
