Gangster Nayeem's victims will get justice: Telangana CM

Mr Rao said that the government was not scared of allegations and would ensure that the guilty are brought to book and punished.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday promised justice to the victims of slain gangster Nayeem, including those whose lands were forcibly taken by him. “I am not a SIT officer to give you all the details, but I assure you that the government will take stringent action against those involved in heinous crimes. Guilty will be punished. Will check out if he took lands forcibly. We will ensure justice in such cases,” Mr Rao said.

When a reporter told the Chief Minister that there were rumours of politicians having links with the gangster, he shot back, “Do you have links? It’s becoming a serial story. In fact, I was upset with police. I told them why they are not revealing daily developments on the investigation to the media.

Since the police is are not telling you, you are involved in hearsay. I don’t like it.” Brushing aside demand for a judicial inquiry or CBI inquiry, Mr Rao said that the government was not scared of allegations and would ensure that the guilty are brought to book and punished. “We will 100 per cent ensure law and order,” he said.
