MEIL’s marvel at Kaleshwaram

The project will be inaugurated by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday.

Hyderabad: Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL), India’s leading multinational infrastructure company, has set a record by completing construction of the world’s largest lift irrigation project at Kaleshwaram in Telangana state in record time.

Along the way, MEIL created milestones such as establishing the world’s biggest underground pump house with gigantic 139 MW motors, the biggest surge pools, and the largest power transmission infrastructure.

The project will be inaugurated by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday.

According to MEIL, the Kaleshwaram project is a one of its kind project and in size beats the Colorado lift scheme in the US and the Great Manmade River in Egypt. Despite its size it was ready in a record 24 months.
