Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday directed officials to create facilities to accommodate one lakh pilgrims per day at Yadadri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple. He spent four hours in Yadadri and inspected the ongoing renovation works on his own. Mr Rao visited Balalayam, the temporary temple that was set up during construction period and offered prayers to the God.

The Chief Minister directed officials to make the renovated temple ready for worship by Dasara 2017. This is the ninth visit of Mr Rao to the temple as CM as he vowed to develop Yadadri as a temple city on par with Tirumala and sanctioned Rs 100 crore every year since he assumed office in June 2014.

He said the emphasis should be on temple architecture and facilities for devotees. The CM also inspected the 13-acre site where 15 suites for VVIPs including a suite for the President is being constructed on the north-east side of the temple. He asked officials to lay four-lane roads on all sides of the temple and develop a flower garden to meet the demand for flowers in the temple city.
