MEA lookout for UNA president Jasmin Shah

The lookout notice will give airport police the power to capture and hand them over to the crime branch sleuths.

Thiruvananthapuram: The external affairs ministry, on crime branch's request, has issued a lookout notice against four people, including United Nurses Association (UNA) president Jasmin Shah, accused of financial fraud.

Others on the lookout are its Kerala president Joby Joseph, who is also the second accused in the case, Mr Shah's driver Nithin Mohan and office staff Jithu.
The notice wants airports to capture, detain or take them into custody. All four are believed to be abroad.

The lookout notice will give airport police the power to capture and hand them over to the crime branch sleuths.

They had issued a lookout notice two weeks ago, but could not trace the suspects.

After that, Mr Shah took to Facebook to claim that he would return to Kerala after Onam. Later, he said he would come on September 18, but is yet to turn up.
The case was registered based on a complaint by UNA's former vice-president Siby Mukesh accusing him of swindling Rs 3.5 crore.

The CB said that the case was necessary as only an audit of the accounts of the UNA could bring out the truth.

The complaint was that Mr Shah swindled the money from the accounts of the UNA, including membership fee paid by nurses and other contributions.

UNA is an umbrella organisation of nurses working in the private sector which spearheaded the agitation for better pay and working conditions for nurses across the state.
