Chennai: The Madras high court has posed more queries to the state in connection with anti-Neet agitations in the state. Justice N. Kirubakaran, before whom the petition filed by another girl, who committed suicide after she failed to get admission to the medical course, came up for hearing, has raised further queries to be answered by the state relating to anti-Neet agitations.
Justice N. Kirubakaran has directed the government to clarify how many protests have been made against Neet? How many protests have been made by political parties and whether they were conducted in a peaceful manner? How many cases have been registered so far in this regard? How many protests have been made by students against Neet? How many cases have been registered against students and how many of them have been arrested?
The judge asked the government, whether any organisation instigated the students to protest against Neet, apart from political parties? Why not the government sensitise school children and students about the law declared by the apex court and other directions regarding Neet and the necessity to prepare them for cracking the exam?
Why not the government sensitise the students and parents about the legal complications and consequences in case of student’s participation in protests and consequent filing of cases? The judge has posted the matter for further hearing on Thursday.
