Hyderabad: Lack of awareness about lane driving, speeding, difficulty in reading signs, sleeplessness and drunk driving were cited as the major causes for accidents on the ORR by participants in at meeting conducted by Cyberabad commissioner of police Sandeep Sandilya. The participants included top police officials and the ORR project director, among others. ORR officials said the ring road was built to international standards. Mr Sandilya asked for a system to reduce the number of accidents. To overcome issues various measures including creating awareness through signages, painting the road to maintain lane driving, carrying reflective triangles on vehicles, installing speed guns, providing water to drivers to freshen among others were decided upon for implementation.
