Commuters worried about Hyderabad Metro frequency

Commuters claim that this will only be useful for those who travel to Hitec city and no other stations in between.

Hyderabad: The much-awaited Metro line, which is set to commence operations on Wednesday, will have a duration of 12 minutes between each train, unlike the frequency in the stretches from Nagole to Miyapur and LB Nagar to Ameerpet. Commuters claim that this will only be useful for those who travel to Hitec city and no other stations in between.

Mr B. Naresh Yadav, President of IT FAN (IT Facility and Admin Manager Network), said that frequency has been a matter of concern for those who commute to work during peak hours, and argues that the metro’s frequency should be enhanced between 4 pm to 8 pm for the employees who commute to home from office. He also mentioned that the metro authorities have temporarily asked commuters to park their vehicles in a mall near Hitec City junction and that the issue will be resolved in two months after inauguration.

The chairman of Facilities Management Council of Telangana, Mr M. Satyanarayana, said that although commuters are concerned about frequency, the metro to Hitec City will be a relief for the IT fraternity. He also added that once the Metro is operational till Gachibowli, another lakh commuters will add to the demand and last mile connectivity will become a concern.

Many others argue that the RTC bus is a better and cheaper option to travel from Ameerpet to Peddamma Temple and Jubilee Hills Check Post, when compared to the metro.
