The arrested duo, R. Deepu Anand (29) and K. Sakthi Saravanan (28), were in an inebriated condition, police said.

Chennai: Police on Monday arrested two persons including a software engineer for making hoax bomb threats to police control room about explosives at the city airport on Sunday night. The arrested duo, R. Deepu Anand (29) and K. Sakthi Saravanan (28), were in an inebriated condition, police said.

Police said that the control room received a call around 9 pm and the person on the other line said that Sakthi Saravanan informed him about a bomb in the city airport and cut the call. Police teams immediately swung into action and traced the location of the call.

Pallikaranai police detained the duo around 10 pm and took them to the police station for investigations. Deepu Anand is a native of Koppampatti in Thurayur, Tiruchy, and is an engineering graduate.
