Hyderabad: Negligence alleged in woman's death

Hyderabad: A 30-year-old housewife died due to alleged medical negligence of a private hospital in KPHB. According to the family of deceased Preeti Agarwal, she had undergone a surgery a Cygnus Hospital two months ago, after which she developed complications. A case was booked against the hospital.

According to police, Preeti, wife of Sajjan K Agarwal, a businessman from Miyapur, got admitted to Cygnus hospital at KPHB two months ago and underwent a surgery. She was under post surgical care and was taking treatment from the same hospital.

She had visited the hospital on last Saturday. After consulting doctors, it was confirmed that she was normal. On Sunday afternoon also, doctors checked her condition, and concluded that she was quite normal. But hours later, she died.

Her family members claimed that her death occurred due to the doctors’s negligence and lodged a complaint against the hospital.

KPHB SI B Raju Yadav said that a case on death due to negligence was registered against the hospital. “Based on evidence, investigation will proceed,” the SI said. The body was handed over to the family after an autopsy.
