AP High Court rejects AP's plea in Jagan case

Jagan's advocate K.V. Sujata Sarma alleged that the Telugu Desam filed the petition conspiring to create hurdles in the ongoing NIA probe.

Vijayawada: The AP High Court rejected the house motion petition of AP government against a NIA probe into the knife attack on YSR Congress president and opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday. This gave a big jolt to Telugu Desam government which planned to halt the NIA probe in the knife attack case.

The AP government had filed a house motion petition objecting to the handing over of the knife attack case to NIA. The court directed the AP government to present their arguments about the NIA case on Monday in the court.

Earlier AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had conducted a meeting with senior police officials and legal experts about filing a house motion petition in the High Court objecting to the NIA probe.

But in a setback to the TD government, the bench that took up the hearing on Saturday and rejected the petition and made it clear that it did not require to be urgently inquired into.

Mr Jagan’s advocate K.V. Sujata Sarma alleged that the Telugu Desam filed the petition conspiring to create hurdles in the ongoing NIA probe. She explained to the media that the court had made it clear that the petition need not be inquired to on an emergency basis.

She pointed out that earlier Mr Naidu said that as the incident had taken place inside the airport, it would come under Central government “but now frightened that his plot would be out he is trying to stop NIA investigation”. She alleged that the government was making all efforts not to bring out the facts of the case. She added, “The arguments regarding the case are strong from our end and they are going to present their arguments in the court on Monday”.
