Appeal for peace from Adilabad MP Godam Nagesh

He said there may be involvement of some political leaders in the ongoing Advasi agitation.

Adilabad: Adilabad MP Godam Nagesh on Monday appealed to people from all groups to maintain peace and not to indulge in violent incidents in Old Adilabad district countering DGP M. Mahender Reddy's statement that Maoists were ready to exploit the situation arising with clashes between Adivasis and Lambadas in Old Adilabad district. Nagesh said there was no such situation prevailing in Old Adilabad which could be exploited by the Maoists. He said there may be involvement of some political leaders in the ongoing Advasi agitation. Adivasis are agitating on their own.

Speaking to media persons, the MP said that the state government was ready to hold peace talks and help restore normalcy in the agency areas in Old Adilabad district. Nagesh said the district administration is taking all possible steps to resolve the issue and bring the situation under control. Nagesh said he was disturbed by the unexpected incidents that took place in Old Adilabad and added that he spoke to all Adivasi organisations and discussed the issues.
